The Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life (LBC) offers you numerous ways to market your event to the Tulane community including table tents, digital signage, and bulletin boards.

5 Things TU Know is a weekly e-newsletter sent to students each Monday by the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life.  The purpose of the newsletter is to promote events, resources, and opportunities on and around campus to the Tulane community.  

Complete the Submission Request Form to post your information and select the Monday you would like your information shared in the newsletter.  If you want to post information on multiple weeks, please submit each post individually and select the corresponding date.  Please note that the submission request does not guarantee inclusion in the newsletter depending on the number of requests for a particular week.  Be sure to check your information for accuracy before you submit.

The Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life (LBC) offers a variety of ways to promote events, programs, and services via digital media technology.  These include a large video wall on the first level and TV monitors on all levels of the LBC. See below for basic information about posting

Submissions...
  • Should be emailed to lbcvideowall@tulane.edu
  • Should include department/group/business name, a contact person, and the desired dates of display
  • Should be submitted at least one full week prior to the desired posting date
  • Will be remain in the rotation for up to two weeks 
    • The rotation includes still images for 10 seconds and videos up to 30 seconds
    • We do not accept requests for exclusive screen use
Formatting...
  • All images should be 1250px wide by 1030px tall and in one of the following formats - 
    • Images: JPG, GIF, TIF, WMF, BMP, and PNG 
    • Videos: AVI, M4V, MPEG, MPEG-2, MPG, MP4, MOV, SWF, and WMV
      Videos cannot exceed 30 seconds in length; No sound is available
  • Templates are available for the following formats - 
Tips...
  • Remember your basic information including the date, time, location, event name, etc.
  • Use bright, colorful content and keep text to a minimum
  • Images should be in the proper formatting/sizing to ensure visual is clear and does not get stretched

  • FREE for Tulane departments and organizations

Table Tents are a great way to get the word out for your event while community members use the seating in the Food Court and Nalty Commons dining areas on the first floor of the Lavin-Bernick Center.

Recognized Student Organizations and University departments can reserve table tents for FREE

Non-Tulane Reservations
Outside organizations are not permitted to reserve table tents

Basic Information & Policies...
  • Amount of Holders | 80 Acrylic Holders
  • Size of Insert | 4in wide by 5in high, Vertical Print, Single-Sided
  • Sponsors | Only Recognized Student Organizations or university departments may reserve table tents

  • Reservations & Length of Promotion

    • Only one (1) table tent slot (i.e. one side) may be reserved per sponsor per day

    • Table tents may be reserved for up to seven (7) days per month

  • Submissions | Please bring 80 table tents inserts to LBC Suite 218 - the Administrative Office of the LBC - either the day before or the day of your reservation and our student employees will insert the table tents into the acrylic holders and recycle them when the reservation ends

  • Content
    • Table tents must have the sponsor’s name printed on them
    • Table tents must not degrade groups or individuals (including sexism, racism, etc.)
    • Table tents may not advertise alcohol promotion or consumption

The Lavin-Bernick Center reserves the right to deny table tent reservation requests or remove content at any time should it violate any policies.

Banner Reservations

  • Banner spaces may be reserved by Tulane Recognized Student Organizations or university departments
  • Banner reservation requests can be submitted through ems.tulane.edu.  For instructions on how to make a banner reservation request, visit the EMS How-To-Guide.
  • Banner spaces may be reserved for up to 7 consecutive days per month.  Groups may only reserve one banner location per day
  • Banners must include the name of the sponsoring Recognized Student Organization or university department
  • The LBC reserves the right to deny a banner reservation request or remove a banner at any time

Banner Details by Location

  • LBC Indoor
    • Banner spaces are located along the 2nd floor railing 
    • Banner may not exceed 8ft wide x 3ft high
    • Banner should be dropped off for installation at the LBC Information Desk the day before or day of the banner reservation
    • If you would like to reuse the banner, it must be retrieved from the LBC Information Desk the day after your reservation ends
    • Banners that are not picked up after 2 days may be discarded
  • LBC Qatar Balcony
    • Banner may measure up to 30 ft wide x 4 ft high
    • For larger banners, please contact Diana Noveck, LBC Assistant Director of Events, at dnoveck@tulane.edu
    • Banner must be made of vinyl - it is highly recommended that the sign manufacturer use reinforced stitching and wind slits to avoid tearing due to wind and rain
    • Banner must have a reinforced/folded corner with a large grommet
    • On the day of the banner reservation, please come to LBC Suite 218 to gain access to the Qatar Balcony to hang the banner.  The organization/department is responsible for providing the zip ties to hang the banner.
    • The organization/department must remove the banner on the day the reservation ends.  Banners that are not removed after 2 business days may be discarded.
  • McAlister Way
    • Banner must measure 30ft wide x 4ft high
    • Banner must be made of vinyl - it is highly recommended that the sign manufacturer use reinforced stitching and wind slits to avoid tearing due to wind and rain
    • Banner must have a reinforced/folded corner with a large grommet
    • For banner installation and removal, an IT must be submitted to Facilities Services at least 10 business days prior to the banner reservation with the following information:
      • Reservation number
      • Date of installation
      • Date of removal
      • Title of banner
      • Contact name
      • Contact phone number
    • Banner should be delivered to Facilities Services (Building 85) no later than 7 business days prior to the banner installation date.  Attach a copy of the reservation with the banner.
    • Once the banner has been removed, Facilities Services will hold the banner for 30 days for pick-up.  Banners that are not picked up after 30 days may be discarded.

  • Percival Stern Breezeway
    • Banner spaces are located next to PJs on the academic quad side and are labeled 1-6
    • Banner must be made of vinyl - it is highly recommended that the sign manufacturer use reinforced stitching and wind slits to avoid tearing due to wind and rain
    • Banner must have a reinforced/folded corner with a large grommet
    • Banners for spaces 1, 3, and 5 must measure 3ft wide x 3ft high
    • Banners for spaces 2, 4, and 6 must measure 7ft wide x 3 ft high
    • Banner may be installed and removed by the sponsoring Recognized Student Organization or university department.  Groups are responsible for providing their own zip ties for installation.

Booth/Table Reservations

  • Indoor and outdoor booth/table spaces may be reserved by Tulane Recognized Student Organizations or university departments 
  • Booth/table reservation requests by Tulane Recognized Student Organizations or university departments can be submitted through ems.tulane.edu.  For instructions on how to make a booth/table reservation request, visit the EMS How-To-Guide.
  • Booth/table spaces may be reserved for up to 5 days per month.  Groups may only reserve one booth/table location per day

All materials for campus bulletin boards must be approved by Campus Services prior to posting.

Basic Information & Policies
  • Approval Process
    • Timeline | The approval process requires a minimum of 3 days for review and approval
    • Digital Approvals
      • You can receive approval prior to printing your materials by e-mailing a copy of your posting to campusservices@tulane.edu
      • Documents should be sent as a .pdf file
      • A stamp of approval will be placed directly onto the document and sent back to you for printing and posting
    • Printed Approvals | If your materials are already printed, you can visit the Campus Services office, LBC Suite 107, for an approval stamp
  • Content Requirements | The organization sponsoring the event must have its name and contact information (phone number, e-mail or website and/or postal address) of the sponsoring group (or individual) visibly on the front of all publicity materials (posters, banners, flyers, etc.)
  • Dimensions | Materials should be no larger than 14”x22” - Anything larger than 14”x22” should be sent to Campus Services at campusservices@tulane.edu for special consideration and approval
  • Posters per Board | Only one poster is allowed per board or kiosk, regardless of board size
  • Posting and and Removing
    • Prior to Event | Approved materials may be posted no more than 2 weeks prior to the event
    • After Event | The organization sponsoring is responsible for posting/providing the material and removing the posted materials within 48 hours of the event
    • Notes on Posting
      • Posting over or removing existing material is prohibited
      • Items may only be posted with pushpins or tacks; all other adhesives used to affix flyers, posters, or banners to posting surfaces are strictly prohibited and no staples or tape allowed
Locations & Submissions in the LBC

The LBC can accept up to two approved bulletin board postings...

  • One (1) for behind the Barnes & Noble Bookstore near the restrooms and
  • One (1) inside of the Rathskeller Lounge, accessible only when the lounge is open

Bulletin board postings may be dropped off at the LBC Information Desk located on the first floor of the LBC.

Tulane University's student-run news source, The Tulane Hullabaloo, effectively reaches the Tulane community on a daily basis in multiple different ways. From the online website (tulanehullabaloo.com), the out-of-home (OOH) news racks, the social media accounts, the street team of students, the weekly email newsletter, to the print edition, The Tulane Hullabaloo has it all. Any type of business or organization with any budget is able to utilize The Tulane Hullabaloo's solutions to reach the Tulane community. 

The Tulane Hullabaloo's business department recommends clients place orders three weeks in advance to ensure the organization's preferred placement, but orders can be submitted the day before the run date. 

Payment is accepted via credit card (preferred), invoice, or an interdepartmental transfer (IT). Credit cards are not charged until the client's campaign ran and was verified by the account executive. Once a campaign is placed, the client can upload creative documents into the flytedesk system, view campaign and run details, and analytic information.
