Catering Requirement

Recognized Student Organizations are exempt from the exclusive catering partnership with Olive Blue Catering in The Rathskeller Lounge between the hours of 7PM-Midnight; All other campus departments and organizations are required to order all food and or beverage through Olive Blue Catering

Reservations

This lounge is not available for reservation through EMS; Tulane organizations or departments interested in reserving The Rathskeller Lounge should contact Diana Noveck directly with details about their request including a short description of your event, ideal dates, time of day, number of attendees, and other special needs

Basic Information & Policies

  •  Hours of Reservation
    •  Indoor Booth Locations | Monday-Sunday between 7:00 AM -11:00 PM
    •  Outdoor Table Locations | Monday-Friday between 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM
  •  Reservations Per Day | One booth/table location may be reserved per sponsor per day
  •  Reservations Per Month | A booth/table location may be reserved for up to 5 days per month per event
  •  Locations | Booth/table sponsor must remain in reserved location
  •  Amplified Sound | Booth/table sponsor must adhere to the university's Amplified Sound Policy
  •  Promotional Materials
    •  Materials Promotional materials are limited to the booth/table location only unless special permission is granted by the LBC Assistant Director for Events & Reservations 
    •  No materials may be adhered to walls, trees, buildings, etc.
  •  Goods & Services Being Offered/Promoted
    •  Individuals and organizations using booth/table reservations may not promote products or services that are in conflict with university resources or services
       For questions about potential conflicts of interest, contact the LBC Assistant Director of Events & Reservations
    •  Food or drink may be sold or distributed at outdoor booth locations only 
  • Non-Tulane Organizations & Their Hosts
    • ​​​​​​ ​Location Restrictions | Non-Tulane organizations may only reserve indoor booth locations in the LBC
    •  Tulane Hosts | Recognized Student Organizations or university departments who wish to sponsor a non-Tulane organization must have a Tulane representative at the booth/table at all time

The Lavin-Bernick Center reserves the right to deny booth/table reservation requests.

The LBC offers two sections of our main hallway, which can be requested and reserved for temporary displays...

Main Hallway #1 - Located between Nalty Commons Dining Room and the Digital Wall
Main Hallway #2 - Located between the Digital Wall and the Berger Family Lawn Dining

Basic Information and Policies

  • Requests
    • Form | By filling out the LBC Installation Request Form, you can begin the process of having your display installed on either or both of our main hallway locations. Installations can range from informational/educational displays to a gallery wall of artwork from your department or organization- it’s up to you!
    • Availability | The LBC staff will make best efforts to accommodate the requestor's first preferred date or secondary date; however, submission of this form does not guarantee that the requestor will be granted approval for installation spaces and/or use of LBC resources nor does it guarantee the requested dates on the requested dates
    • Timeline | Requests for installations must be submitted 2 months prior to the earliest preferred installation date; requests submitted later than this time window will not be approved
  • Equipment
    • Gallery Rail | Each of the Main Hallway locations is outfitted with a running gallery rail to assist with hanging display pieces and the LBC staff can provide metal hooks and wires that work in conjunction with the gallery rails
    • Tape and Adhesive |  The LBC can also provide Command brand-style hooks and strips. 
  • Assistance & Support | The LBC staff will be available to assist in the physical installation and deactivation of the display, however, content and maintenance are the responsibility of the sponsoring student organization, department, or individual
  • Damage | The use of any materials that may permanently damage or alter the LBC facilities is prohibited
  • Liability | The LBC staff is not liable for any installation elements that are stolen, broken, or otherwise damaged in any way before, during, or after the installation. By checking this box, the requestor acknowledges that the LBC cannot guarantee the security of installation elements

Request Form

The LBC Director reserves the exclusive right to refuse and/or reject any installation requests that do not align with the spirit and mission of the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life
