Crest Student Leadership Celebration

The Crest Student Leadership Celebration, sponsored annually by the Division of Student Affairs, is a reception that recognizes the efforts and achievements of students outside of the classroom!  The celebration also includes awards for Leadership Medallions, Student Organization of the Year, and Greenie Award.  This year's celebration will be held on April 23, 2025.

Leadership Medallion

The Leadership Medallion is awarded to graduating seniors of Newcomb-Tulane College who have demonstrated leadership capacity through their campus involvements that have exemplified each of the tenets of the Tulane University Leadership Framework including:

  • A Sense of Possibility
  • Self-Awareness
  • Social Consciousness & Civic Mindedness
  • Empathic & Reciprocal Relationships
  • Vision
  • Actionable Plans
  • Reflection & Assessment

Student Organization of the Year Award

The Student Organization of the Year Award recognizes one student organization that has made outstanding contributions to the Tulane University community through:

  • Fostering a sense of belonging within their organization and the university community
  • Demonstrating creativity, adaptability, and/or innovation through its activities and programs
  • Offering impactful programming to enhance the quality of campus life at Tulane

The Student Organization of the Year is considered a role model for other organizations at Tulane. The deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, March 21st, 2025 at 11:59 PM.  Awards will be announced at the Crest Student Leadership Celebration on April 23, 2025.

Organization Advisor of the Year Award

The Student Organization of the Year Award recognizes one student organization advisor that has made outstanding contributions to the Tulane University community through:

  • Fostering a sense of belonging within their organization and the university community
  • Demonstrating creativity, adaptability, and/or innovation through their role as an advisor 
  • Contributing to the success of the student organization.
  • For this form, nominators will need to include statements from at least three additional students addressing the points above.

The Organization Advisor of the Year is considered a role model for other organizations at Tulane. The deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, March 21st, 2025 at 11:59 PM.  Awards will be announced at the Crest Student Leadership Celebration on April 23, 2025.

Program of the Year Award

The Program of the Year Award is to recognize the outstanding effort and impact of an event put on by.a student organization in a year. Submissions will need to include some of the following information:

  • Organizational Goals
    • Describe the organization's goals/mission
    • Describe how the submitted program/event meets those goals.
    • How was the idea for this event/program originated?
  • Planning and Preparation
    • Describe the design of the event/program.
    • Describe the methods to advertise this event/program
    • Explain any problems that had to be overcome and your responses to them.
    • What were the intended outcomes of this event/program?
    • List all campus resources and partners that contributed to the success of the event.
  • Evaluation
    • Was the event/program successful, and how do you define success?
    • Describe the specific measurable outcomes that were achieved.
    • Based on the outcome of this event/program, describe the most significant changes that will be made if the program is offered again.
  • A document including any photos, marketing materials.

Greenie Award

The Greenie Award recognizes four undergraduate students including two first or sophomore students and two junior or senior students, two graduate students, a staff member, and a faculty member for outstanding dedication to the Tulane University community and the embodiment of at least one of Tulane's core values.  Tulane's core values are listed below:

The deadline to submit your nomination for the undergraduate and graduate student awards is Friday, March 21st, 2025 at 11:59 PM  The staff and faculty member awards will be selected by the Tulane Undergraduate Assembly.  Awards will be announced at the Crest Student Leadership Celebration on April 23, 2025.
