Lounges + Study Spaces

The Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life (LBC) lounges are open spaces for out-of-classroom discussion, community building, studying, and relaxation. These spaces are for the enjoyment of any student, faculty, staff or visitor in the LBC. 

Pedersen Lobby

Located on the first level of the LBC near the McAlister Way entrance, the Pedersen Lobby provides 12 study tables and an open programming space. Pedersen Lobby can be reserved for campus events. James Lounge

Located on the first level of the LBC behind Fed Ex/Kinko’s, the James Lounge provides a comfortable lounge space with a perfect view of campus activity along McAlister Way. James Lounge features 5 study tables, 9 one-seat cubicles, sofas, and chairs. 

Rosenberg Mezzanine

Located between the first and second level of the LBC, the Rosenberg Mezzanine offers community work/study tables, sofas, and chairs. 

Second Level Lounge Areas

The second level of the LBC offers an array of sofa and chair seating throughout the second level and outside of meeting rooms.

The Rathskeller Lounge

The Rathskeller Lounge (formerly City Diner) is located in the Garden Level of the LBC. The space will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 7PM-Midnight and will feature a variety of special events, specifically the regular Tulane After Dark movie and trivia nights and more. It will also be available for reservations and rentals for networking and social events Monday and Tuesday between 8AM-10PM and Wednesday through Sunday from 8AM-5PM via our Assistant Director for Reservations.

The Commons

Located on the first level of the Commons, a variety of late-night lounge and study space is available once dining hours have ended through 2:00 a.m.
