Recognized Student Organization Renewal (RSO)

RSO renewal is an essential part of student organization management.  It is designed to help you conduct an annual review of your organization's information, update officers and advisors, organize organization documents, and review your public profile for marketing your organization to prospective members.  Renewal also allows the university to have an up-to-date list of active organizations to promote to the Tulane community, ensure contact information for organizations is accurate, and confirm that organization advisors agree to continue their role for the upcoming year. Renewal is completed by updating the organization's WaveSync portal including required documentation:

  • Updated contact information for organization officers for the next academic year
  • Updated, signed Advisor Role & Responsibilities Form for the next academic year
  • Updated RSO roster
  • Updated RSO constitution

RSOs can renew their organizations for the 2024-2025 academic year on WaveSync from April 1, 2024 - June 1, 2024

To renew your organization in WaveSync, please follow the steps below:

  • Login to WaveSync and scroll to your memberships listing on the homepage
  • Click on the organization that you are trying to renew
  • Once you are on the organization's homepage, select the "Manage Organization" button
    • If you do not see the "Manage Organization" button, you will need to make sure you have the president or treasurer position assigned to you in the organization's roster page.  Any current president, treasurer or advisor position holder is able to add the required position to your name in the page's roster
  • On the "Manage Organization" page, you will see the blue "Re-Register This Organization" button, which will start the RSO renewal process

Reminders regarding renewal and the renewal deadline will be sent via email to RSO presidents, treasurers and advisors who currently hold those positions each spring. Failure to complete the renewal process by the established deadline will result in the organization being frozen.  Once frozen, RSOs have one academic year to complete their renewal starting the day after the Fall Activities Expo.  If the renewal is not completed by June 1, 2025, the RSO will be made inactive.

  • Active status - full RSO privileges
  • Frozen status - loss of RSO privileges including the ability to spend organization funds, host meetings or events, participate in Activities Expos, etc.
  • Inactive status - RSO deactivated and must complete the RSO chartering process if they want to return as an organization
